MUDVAYNE's RYAN MARTINIE Offering One-On-One Bass Lessons To Fans
February 12, 2009MUDVAYNE bassist Ryan Martinie has come up with a new way to connect with his fans that also benefits a charity he believes in. At upcoming shows on the band's current U.S. trek, Ryan is offering an hour-long, one-on-one bass lesson for a fan in each city. Reservations for the bass lessons are available on a first-come, first-served basis via RyanMartinie.com. The fee for each lesson is $250, $50 of which will be donated to The Humane Society of the United States.
Players of all skills levels are welcome and a bass can be provided for the lesson if needed. Each session will consist of MUDVAYNE songs from the group's current set list.
MUDVAYNE's North American trek kicked off on February 3 in Waterloo, Iowa and extends into late March. Martinie told The Pulse of Radio that with their complex songs and elaborate visuals, MUDVAYNE usually needs a few weeks before the tour to get the show in shape. "We spend an immense amount of time on either designing the show, from the lighting to the staging to the actual playing," he said. "You know, we're gonna take a couple of weeks and actually just go through the songs. We'll be doing it every single day, you know, in preparation. And then it won't vary much. Sorry to tell everybody that, but, you know, it's not like we go out onstage and are waiting for 'Hey Chad (Gray, singer),what song's next? What are we playing?'"
MUDVAYNE is touring in support on its latest album, "The New Game", which has sold 157,000 copies in the United States since its November 2008 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
